| Spilling Power Therm Micro CHP
Facility: Schools
and public buildings in 3 sections. Overall heated
volume is over 100,000 m3.
Issue: In 2003 Lubecker, wished
to optimize and modernize the school's heating
system. The goal was to reduce annual energy
without substantial initial investment. Through
the parallel generation of heat and electricity,
they saw the opportunity to reduce energy costs
and carbon emissions simutaneously.
Solution: Building control
system with peak load boiler and a PowerTherm Unit.
Technologies: Power
Therm Micro CHP combined with natural gas
boiler.
Highlights: By using the PowerTherm,
up to the whole year heating costs is recovered
through Kwe produced which school doesn’t
buy from the grid. As an educational excersize,
the school students tracked the efficiency
of decentralized energy production.
