Boilers each feeding a node of eight apartments,
each node requires average year round consumption
of 800,000 Btus/hr. Eight nodes equals 6,400,000
btu/hr. CAPX ~ $210,000, Annual NG Cost ~ $448,512,
Annual O&M ~ $5,200, Useful Life ~ 20 YRS. Property
owner has access to Forest wastes.
Solution: Two Modular Hot Water Gasifiers with crossover, each delivering
4,000,000 btu/hr. CAPX ~ $1,234,000, Annual NG Cost ~ $0.00, Annual O&M
~ $60,000, Useful Life 40 YRS.
Technologies: Grinder, Uniconfort,
Modular 3 Pass Alternative Fuel Gasifier/Boiler.
Highlights: The Developer
approached AES thinking that, due to waste
wood fuel availability, it would be practical
to use biomass as a Natural Gas alternative.
The heating design was completed but the only
change
being
proposed was in the type of boiler. Using the
design requirements specified temperature and
flow for the hot water supply, a plant was
